How To Build Your Downline

The great thing about internet marketing is that when you have successfully built a solid downline and mailing list, your business will run itself. The bad thing about internet marketing is that it takes either time or money but many times both to build a downline. However, attracting prospects is only half the battle. Many people that are new to this industry will quit within only a few weeks of starting, if not less. The keys to building a sound downline that will not only make you money but run your business for you are:

1. Recruit Only the Best

2. Offer Assistance

3. Encouragement

1. Recruit Only the Best

Building a downline of self-motivated and ambitious individuals is no easy task. For every golden recruit there are fifty tire-kickers and fifty more skeptics. The key is to develop a marketing campaign that targets only those golden recruits. When using Google Adwords, for example, don’t bid on keywords like “Simple Home Business”, but instead on other affiliate marketing program names. These people are looking for answers to their questions about their businesses and are hungry for some how-to information. In addition, they are already familiar with the industry. I have wasted a lot of money advertising for a “Home Business Opportunity”. Instead, concentrate your efforts on a market that already has gotten their feet wet in this business. All these people need is a push in the right direction. Give them a push.

2. Offer Assistance

I believe the biggest reason for the large turnover rate in this industry is the lack of good sponsoring. Everyone needs a mentor that has proven himself as an expert on how to be successful in network marketing. Even more importantly, that expert must set his ego aside and be willing to help out the rookies in developing their own marketing plans. Most people quit because they feel overwhelmed and fearful. With the emails and even phone calls of a good sponsor, a terrified new sign up can turn into a golden prospect. We all started somewhere, and we all felt a little overwhelmed at some point. Having personal contact with as many people in your downline as you can will nurture your business and keep your turnover rates low.

3. Encouragement

Even though you may be a hot shot at the top of the leaderboard in your company with 100+ sign ups a week, you still have to treat your downlines’ accomplishments just the same. If your new recruit gets his very first sign-up, send him or her a congratulatory email and act like you do when you get your two thousand dollar bonus for all of your sign-ups. Your passion and excitement will fuel their own. But don’t limit your encouragement for only the best of times. If one of your recruits is having a tough time with his marketing campaign, help him craft a new one and tell him about your struggles with this business and how you pulled through. I think John Wooden said it best, “You can’t do your very best for too long without getting the results you want.”

Conclusion

Building a solid downline and keeping everyone below you happy is the key to success in this industry and building a steady flow of passive income. After all, when your prospects make money, you make money, so you should value their success as much as you value your own and treat their businesses like you treat your own. With a hardworking, ambitious downline that respects you, there is no telling how far you can go and how much money you can make.

Internet Marketing: Building Passive Income

Network Marketing: Selecting the Right Business

Robert T. Kiyosaki said in his book “CASHFLOW Quadrant” that the best way to start to build passive income is to use network marketing. With a good network marketing business, Kiyosaki believes that you not only learn business skills by running your own business, but you also build a passive income stream that can eventually take you to financial freedom.

The good thing about a network marketing business is there is almost no start up cost compared to starting up your own business from scratch or even buying a franchise. The bad thing is that there are hundreds if not thousands of network marketing business to choose from. With so many choices, how do you pick the right one? Here are the most important aspects of an online business to focus on:

Start Up Costs

Stay away from online businesses that cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars to start, especially if you are relatively new to the industry. Try to find a business that has a low start up cost or a low monthly fee. If you can, try to find a free trial as well, like that of Global Domains International. With a free trial you can explore and experiment with the system and determine if it’s right with you.

Sponsor

No matter what online business you choose, make sure you have a good sponsor or mentor to guide you. Your mentor should have a proven track record of success with this business, and be willing to help you not only though email but by phone. He or she should set up a marketing plan with you that can get you jump started in the industry. As Tony Robbins says, the key to success is to find someone who is successful, find out what they did, and then do it.

Product

This is something that everyone researches, but few really understand. The key to finding the right business is to find one that offers a product that everyone wants. The more demand there is for the product, the more sign ups you will get. It’s that simple. With the right product and the right marketing system, your business will run itself and you will pocket the profits.

Earnings

Everyone wants to make money. The problem is people get suckered into online businesses with guarantees like “10K in one week!” The truth is, building passive income takes time and takes effort. With enough effort, your business will get to the point where it will run itself. Just find a company that has a good monthly pay system with solid bonuses.

Good Luck to everyone in finding the right online business, building passive income, and becoming financially free!

Free Marketing Techniques

Since I am currently on a budget with my marketing for my primary business, I have been using free marketing techniques. Although these are tailored for more long term results, I have been seeing sign ups rather quickly. Here are some of the techniques I use:

Many of us have created an online business after seeing the results that others have had. Tons of internet business owners have built passive income streams that provide $10,000 in monthly income. However, after creating our businesses, we find out that these successful people are spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars online every month to market their business. Is there anything you can do to market your business in a cost efficient manner? The answer is yes, and this article will explain the four best ways to market your business for free.

1. Press Releases

2. Articles

3. Classified Ads

4. Forums

1. Press Releases

Press Releases are probably the fastest way to expose your website and drive traffic to it as quickly as possible. This is because instead of having to be approved for seven days to a month as with articles, press releases get your address out to the search engines immediately.

Your press release should have a title that is full of keywords that you have researched and that will attract the most visitors. You can research keywords at www.goodkeywords.com, or many other great sites. Your next step is a subhead, which gives a brief overview of the story while using good keywords. Your body should not be a sales pitch, it should be an interesting story that keeps the reader interested. Again, you DO NOT try to sell your business here, just write an interesting and honest story that will inspire respect in the reader for you and your business. In the keywords section, use solid keywords that you have researched on a keyword site. The final part is your contact info, which is where you give the reader a call for action by leaving your website or email address. This, and only this, is where you explicitly sell your business.

2. Articles

Articles are a great way to build respect and prove your knowledge in the industry, which evokes trust in potential sign ups. As with press releases, articles should have sound keywords that have been researched extensively. Keywords are the keys (no pun intended) to driving the most readers to your article. The article body should have good organization, with an introduction, a few key points, and then a conclusion. The body should have information that you think a reader would find valuable so that they will consider you a credible source. The resource box is where you call the reader to action, and is the ONLY place you should sell your business.

3. Classified Ads

Classifieds are yet another great free way to market your business. The nice thing about classifieds is that they target the market you are looking for: people in search of a home business opportunity. There are plenty of free classified sites you can post on to attract sign ups. Try to keep your classified short and sweet, and give just enough information to intrigue them and drive them to your website, but not enough to bore them. Remember to research the keywords and title you include, as this is an important step in any free marketing opportunity.

4. Forums

This is yet another great opportunity to gain respect and credibility, and consequently drive more traffic to your site. Find a few forums you like and that are active, and then spend half an hour every day posting. Medium to long posts have the most search engine power. Research before you post, and never personally attack anyone in a forum. The most important part of posting in a forum is to utilize your signature, where you put your url and a call for action. If forum members read your posts and find you a credible resource, they will be motivated to read your signature and follow it to your site.

Conclusion

There are plenty of other ways to market our online business for free and drive traffic to your website, but these are the strategies I have found most effective. The main theme of marketing is to build respect, credibility, and trust, and this will translate into a successful business.

First Sign Ups

After a few days of rigorous free marketing, including article posting, classified ads, forums, and bookmarking, I got my first sign up with GDI. I felt a great sense of satisfaction when I saw I had my first sign up. Now there is only one place to go: up. Now I know what is working and what isn't, and more and more sign ups are coming in.

Although free marketing techniques are for more long-term results, I got my first sign up in a couple days, which means that if you really commit yourself to GDI and market it well, you can succeed. Although my marketing system, Residual Wealth Factor, is focused more on solo ads and paid advertising, right now I have a tight budget and I have to wait until my day job starts paying so I can invest money in more powerful marketing techniques.

Residual Wealth Factor Marketing System for GDI

This post is an overview of the Residual Wealth Factor Marketing System that you can use to market your online business. It includes information about how RWF started, how you sign up and what you get, as well as some pros and cons.

RESIDUAL WEALTH FACTOR

HOW IT STARTED

Residual Wealth Factor was founded by internet millionaire David Parnell. David’s story began in 2000, when he first decided to embark on his journey through network marketing. He had heard rumors of people making $10,000 to $30,000 a month online, and because he was a college dropout with just a high school diploma and some grocery bagging experience, he thought that if he could just make a fraction of that, he would be happy. Of course, like anyone else that starts in network marketing, he was skeptical, but he gave it a shot. After a little trail and error, he developed his own marketing system and he went from $60 a month to $1,000 a day in less than a year. Using his marketing strategy from his first internet business (Global Domains International or GDI), he started various other network marketing campaigns and continued to BUILD PASSIVE INCOME. After 5 years internet marketing he had generated well over a million dollars in sales promoting a wide variety of items online including e-books, vacations, and home business consulting. After constructing a sizeable flow of passive income, he decided to share his marketing system and expertise in the industry with people who were willing to follow. This was the beginning of his “Residual Wealth Factor” or RWF.

WHAT IS RWF AND WHAT DO I GET WHEN I SIGN UP?

Residual Wealth Factor is David’s proven marketing strategy that has made him millions, and works in conjunction with Global Domains International (if you are unfamiliar with GDI please see my article overview). David charges $8.25 a month for access to his system and his GDI VIP team, which is to sort out the tire kickers from the serious business people who have a strong will and desire to make money online. With RWF, you get: an autoresponder with David’s own emails that are sent to your prospects, access to David’s marketing strategy including his “secrets” of where he markets and how, a monthly co-op program where you purchase shares for the circulation of your website, exclusive bonus opportunities, and much more.

PROS

Utilizing David’s step by step guide with GDI is a proven way to BUILD PASSIVE INCOME, gain valuable marketing experience online, and work from home. David gives you everything he uses, even his own personalized email messages so that you create the success he did.

CONS

The majority of network marketers have trouble finding leads. RWF is not a get rich quick program, and you will not have a 5 figure income in a few months time. It takes drive and determination to succeed not only in internet marketing, but in life. Also, there are fees associated with David’s program.

CONCLUSION

Residual Wealth Factor is a proven way to market your online business. There are monthly fees, but compared to the start up costs of some network marketing companies that reach $2,000 or more, they are very small. This system is not for tire kickers or dreamers or explorers, it is for doers and winners and driven individuals. If you do not have the drive, you will not succeed. But if you do have that drive and you follow David’s simple, duplicable process, you will succeed.

“Success is simple, not easy.”

Global Domains International Overview

This post gives an unbiased overview of the Global Domains International home business opportunity. It includes how GDI started, what you get when you sign up, and the business opportunities associated with it.

GLOBAL DOMAINS INTERNATIONAL INC. (GDI)

HOW IT STARTED:

Michael Reed and Alan Ezeir are the co-founders of Global Domains International. In the mid 1990s as the internet began to take off, the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) gave each country a code for internet use. For example, the United States received .us, Ireland received .ie, and so on and so forth. All of us know the code “.com”, and because it stands for “commercial”, it is used worldwide. Similar to the saturation of the 1-800 telephone numbers for commercial companies, dot com was also becoming saturated, and consequently disallowing new domain names to be made with a dot com code (a domain name is simply a web address, such as www.google.com). Michael and Alan then decided to create a new code that could be used worldwide. The code they decided on was “.ws” for “web site”. However, this code had already been assigned by the IANA to the country of Western Samoa in the deep south Pacific. So Michael and Alan went to Samoa and met with the King and Prime Ministers, purchased their country code, and agreed to give them a cut of their profits.

Nine months later, the company had sold over 100,000 domain names to such companies as Dell computers, Yahoo!, and Intel. Soon they created marketing campaigns in such magazines as Fortune Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. In 2002, Global Domains International was placed #37 on Inc. Magazine’s Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies in the United States, and today it still continues to grow at a rapid pace.

WHAT YOU GET:

When you sign up for the 7 day free trial with Global Domains International, you get your very own .ws domain name (which you can use to market your primary business, redirect visitors to another site, etc.), and 10 email addresses to go along with it. You also get a website creator, access to exclusive forums, and much more. After the 7 day trial period expires you pay only $10 a month and keep all of these features.

BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY:

For every person you refer to the company that gets their own .ws domain name, you get 10% of their monthly fees, or $1 a month. For every person they refer, you also get $1 a month, and this continues for 5 downlines. For example, if you refer 5 people, and they each refer 5 people, and this continues for 5 downlines, you will receive $3905 monthly. GDI also offers bonuses, one being for every 5 people you refer in a 7 day period, you get $100. If you refer 25, you get a $500 bonus, and so on and so forth.

Introduction

Welcome again to the Building My Passive Income blog! This post will give a brief introduction of me and how I started building my own passive income.

I am a 19-year old sophomore at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I am originally from Muskegon, Michigan. In fall of 2007, after many grueling interviews, I gained admittance to the College Works Painting internship program. The Princeton Review has selected this internship to the top 10 internships in the country for the past decade. I have been marketing, hiring employees, and booking work for a couple months now. I plan on making upwards from $40,000 from this internship this summer. My district manager, or consultant for College Works Painting, recommended I read "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert T. Kiyosaki. I did, and I loved it. Afterwards I rushed to the bookstore and picked up three more books by Robert T. Kiyosaki. In all of his books, he emphasizes the fact that the poor and middle class work for money, and the rich have money work for them. The rich do this by creating a passive income flow that covers their expenses. He suggested starting off building passive income by entering into network marketing.

After thorough research of many network marketing opportunities, I joined Global Domains International Inc., or GDI (for more info on GDI, see the GDI overview post or watch a free 6-minute video by clicking in the upper left corner of the page). I also needed a marketing strategy to build my business, so I researched who was having the most success with the program. David Parnell and his Residual Wealth Factor System had built a passive income stream of almost 20K a month in a little over a year. He obviously knew how to market this business, so I signed up with him. This is how my network marketing journey began.
